AUGUST PRACTICE WEAR
Blue T-shirt/Yellow shorts

Understand your child's position on a team:
Team Member – every Riptide is assigned to a team.
Crossover – a Riptide who is asked to crossover to a lower level team to help that team be more competitive. The benefit of being a crossover is additional training time at no additional cost. Crossovers are required to pay ½ of the competition fees and all choreography fees for the additional team.
Alternate – Riptides that have been selected based on their potential to gain the higher level skills and to become a permanent member on that team. Alternates attend all practices of a higher level team and will compete with the team if needed. If an alternate becomes a permanent team member on the higher level team, they will still be asked to crossover to the lower level team.
Additional Tryout - All Riptides are encouraged to work on their skills and try out again on June 26 and July 31 in order to earn a spot on a higher level team.
ALL TEAM PLACEMENTS WILL BE FINAL AS OF JULY 31ST.
We are purposely not determining age divisions for teams in an effort to keep our options open.

COMPETITION CHECK-LIST:
Prep Evening Before
Incidentals:
All Cheerleaders should arrive in full uniform with their hair up and their makeup on. Remember no non Riptide clothing, no uggs, etc…..
___If you are driving - Clear your car of clutter - check the oil, wiper fluid and put your emergency kit in the car. Have the air pressure checked in your tires. Put your ice scraper in your car.
___Include a travel care package especially if you are traveling with youngsters and/or the elderly. Handy wipes, paper towels, music, videos if you have a player, comfort items such as favorite teddy bear or a pillow for your cheerleader. Include bottled water or low sugar juices that are clear.
___Pack your "Riptide" Spirit Goodies! Wear the Team Colors!
___Put the direction to the competition in the car. Program the important numbers in your cell phone.
___If you are not driving - call your car pool buddy and ask if they need anything special for the ride and offer to help with the above items. Confirm your ride for both days. Offering to assist with the driving expenses is a wonderful way to show your appreciation for the ride or make a promise to be the driver the next time.
___Gas up - Fill your tank
___ Make sure to have discussed cash and spending with your child and determine the right amount of cash they should have in their bag. Go to the ATM and get the Cash.
___Estimate "your" spending and determine if you will purchase any of the "Cheer" stuff at the competition. Anticipate spending about $75 if you plan to buy the video. They will take credit cards or checks for this purchase and it will take about 6 - 8 weeks to receive it in the mail. You can also order it ionline after. The other venders expect cash. Keep in mind that most of the items are available on-line at a discounted rate. Set the boundaries with your child before this weekend and stick to them.
___Estimate your spending on Food. Bringing your own bottled water can save you upwards of $20 for drinks. Packing a snack for you and your guest can save you three folds.
___Estimate your spending on Admission Tickets
